THE SAINT ANTHONY CHARITIES

The Spirituality of the Anthonians of the Philippines are based on the examples of Saint Anthony of Padua, we are trying to bring the saint back in our daily lives by fulfilling  the words of Jesus in the gospel. We the Anthonians are also called defender of the poor, the sick and the suffering.

Our Activities is more on the Deeds of Mercy, for we heard Jesus said in the Gospel: "Whatever you do to the least of my brothers you do it to me." We lived with the Franciscan vow with additional two vows to have FIVE VOWS of POVERTY, CHASTITY, OBEDIENCE, FREE WHOLE-HEARTED SERVICE TO THE POOR and TOTAL CONSECRATION TO THE MOTHER OF GOD. ( MARIAN VOW).
As its founding head I must go around in search for the poorest of the poor like what Mother Teresa of Calcuta and Saint Anthony did during their life on earth. Doing service to the poorest of the poor is touching Jesus 24/7. Holiness is love, if we love Jesus the more we become channel of his love to our suffering brothers and sisters.

The Lord asked me to start a group of religious men and women who embrace this task of becoming a true instrument of Peace and love to all. this is yet to be fulfilled and much prayer is needed. Saint Anthony of Padua serves as protector of all this divine works of mercy.  As Blessed Teresa of Calcutta said:  WE ARE CREATED FOR GREATER THINGS TO LOVE AND TOBE LOVED.

Let us bare in our minds and hearts the words of Jesus: WHATEVER YOU DO TO THE LEAST OF MY BROTHERS YOU DO IT TO ME.

Love is Holiness, Holiness is giving, Giving is Sacrifice, Sacrifice is suffering, and Suffering is to be a Saint for the source of Holiness is God and God is love.
