Fra. Francis Gregory was born Jeffrey D. Lumbay on October 14, 1980 to Mr. Timoteo and Mrs. Sonia Lumbay. Second to the eldest in the family. In the 2010 he joined the Franciscan Penitent in Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines, inspired by the Lord to serve the poorest of the poor spend his religious life in swamp and climbing mountains in search for the suffering children of God. Just this year 2012 he started his charity programs. With Humility, courage and unwavering faith, he suffered and accepted a lot of humiliations and criticism as he go around begging for alms, faces trails, pains and difficulties, just to be able to serve and love God through the poor. He did not only help the poor but lived poorly, using a wooden pillow and a piece of board as a bed.
He follows the rule of Saint Francis and the spirituality of Saint Anthony. He go on foot to far mountains bringing what he is able to gather for the needs of the poor the sick and the dying who is now depending on him as a Father.
Now Fra. Farncis is suffering from chest pains, and several times fainted during prayers. Even though his condition is worsting he still go on search for the poorest of the poor.
When asked His only reply was: TO SEE AND TOUCH JESUS IN THEM IS MY GREATEST JOY.
